NATIONAL TREE OF INDIA - BANYAN TREE
The national tree of India is banyan tree. its has very huge structure. it has long
and deep roots and branches that symbolize the county's unity. this tree is found all over
in our country.
The tree may spread across several acres. it has dark green leaves and it bears red
colured fruits which are not edible the huge tree acts as a shield and protects people from
the not sun.
The wood and the bark of the banyan tree are used for making paper,rope
s are made from the aerial roots of the tree. the leaves are used as animals fodder, the
twings are used as toothpicks. the sap of the tree is used to produce shellac , an adhesive
and varnish. medicines are made fro the bark and soft sap of the tree is used to care
skin disease, toothaches etc.
This tree is planted near home,villages, temples and roadside. in the rural areas, it
is considered as a focal points where village councils and meeting are held. the tree is considered as a sacred tree. the widest banyan tree in the world which is 250 years
old is located in kolkata.
The banyan tree is called 'KALPAVRIKSHA' a sanskrit word which means a divine tree
that fulfilled wishes
